Company History

Founded in 1944 by Henry Hosea Sr. and his two sons, the business started rebuilding machine tools and shipping them to war-torn Japan and Germany. The business was incorporated in 1957 as the H.J. Hosea & Sons Company, Inc.

By 1965, the business was export packing 300 to 500 machine tools per month, as Cincinnati was known as the machine tool capital of the world. Hosea handled almost everyone's exports. 

Hosea started a trucking & foreign freight forwarding operation and soon thereafter, became one of the largest forwarding companies in the world. The name was then changed to Hosea International. This business was sold in 1983. In 1984, Hosea Worldwide was formed and because of the reputation we had established, we were asked to move International Harvester to England. This is still believed to be the largest industrial move project to date.

In 1985, Hosea Worldwide, along with Todd Transportation, became known as Project Movers. In 1986, John Clark Trucking & Rigging (est. 1898) was purchased as well as Tri-state Rigging to help the rapidly growing demands of the business. As Hosea Worldwide continued to grow and the need for crane services steadily increased, Hensley Crane Company was acquired in 1988.

In the early part of 1990, we added our furniture, shelving and pallet rack divisions. Three years ago, we entered into an agreement with Cincinnati Milacron to paint, handle and ship 500+ machine tools per year. This gave birth to our large industrial painting operation.

We also own and operate approximately 1,000,000 square feet of warehouse space to accommodate and stage large projects and distribution services. In 1999, we elected to do all our own in-house electrical/mechanical work, thus making Hosea the only true in-house project mover.

In 2000, we changed our name to Hosea Project Movers, LLC to more closely reflect the uniqueness of what we do.

Today Hosea Project Movers is one of the most recognized and successful industrial project movers in the country, with over 150 dedicated, professional employees. We are the best at what we do!
